Sheriff Ana Franklin reports that on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, Morgan County Deputies went to the residence located at 44 Chatman Hill Rd. in Valhermoso Springs, Al. to execute a Felony Domestic Violence warrant for the arrest of James Hurshel Thompson Jr. Deputies made contact with James Hurshel Thompson Jr. at the residence. Deputies placed James Hurshel Thompson Jr. under arrest and during pat down of subject, Deputies located a metal medicine vial in pant pocket. Deputies located in medicine vial approximately 2.8 grams of Methamphetamine.

The Morgan County Drug Task Force was notified of incident/offense. Subject James Hurshel Thompson Jr. is well known to Morgan Drug Task Force Agents.

It has been learned that James Hurshel Thompson Jr. was currently out on bond for a prior arrest last week for a Misdemeanor Domestic Violence warrant arrest.

James Hurshel Thompson Jr. was arrested on the Felony Domestic Violence Warrant ($5,000.00 bond) and for the new charges of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine ($50,000.00 bond) and for the Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia ($300.00 bond). Bond set at $50,00.00 per Judge Waters for the Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine.
