Paler says, " they know who is a great judge." They also know who ain't, or wasn't.

If Buzz had worked half as hard as Jennifer he would have won too.

Both Jennifer and Buzz worked very hard. Congrats to both of them for running good races.

I am personally sad that Sherrie Paler lost. She is a great judge. I am afraid of what will happen in our court system with an inexperienced child and a re-elected judge that is very inattentive. Morgan County should worry....

Jennifer is in her mid-thirties. I'd hardly call that a "child." I support anyone that wants to speed things up down there. There is no since in cases taking FOREVER to go through.

Ms. Howell will do great, thank you very much! Ms. Paler whining about "who knows who a great judge is" just shows her arrogant lack of class. Good ridance! Go Jennifer!!

Hey "Morgan County", you don't know your a$$ from a hole in the ground, Buzz worked very hard!!!

Buzz worked very hard. He's just incompetent.

All I can say is the people of Morgan County never FORGET 'ugly'. Jennifer will do well. She worked very hard and deserves a chance to prove that.

well 20,095 people in Morgan County thought Paler has done a wonderful job. Myself included. Atleast people remembered that article written about Buzz. Thank you DD for keeping us informed.

I truely think some Republicans won by "Straight ticket voting". Sometimes this is not a good thing.

When Paler was volunteering at Belk's last Sat., she was not friendly to be up for re-election vote in a couple of days.

Tony, this election was obviously not a case of "straight ticket voting" Thompson and Paler are both democrats but only one lost.

I just wish someone would have run against Haddock. He is the most unfair judge I know! Divorce case goes to court before him with lots of evidence (pictures and video) and witnessess and he still rules in favor of the adulterer!!! What goes around comes around and I just hope I get to see that happen - the judge, the adulterer and the attorney's. Most people have asked if there was "money under the table!" Makes one stop and think!!!

DecaturResident - What exactly is "obvious" to you? Your analogy makes the assumption that everyone voting for Thompson used a straight Democrat ticket. What Tony suggests is Howell may have received votes she wouldn't have otherwise gotten due to people using a straight Republican ticket. Not only is this possible, in looking at the margin by which Howell won, it is probable.

Paler Should Have Won, She Has The Experience, Would You Want Someone To Do Some Work For You That Didn't Have Any Experience, I Wouldn"t. I Tink The Young People Voted For Howell, Because she was young

How much experience did Paler have and at what age did she take office?

Raymond maybe you should go to law school and then run against Haddock.

Glad PALER the MAN HATER is gone.

Paler Is Not A Man Hater, She Just Hates When The Man Does Women Wrong

I see that Steven Ziaja has a vote for Howell on his Facebook and Jennifer was endorsed by the Fraternal Order of Police. Does Ziaja and Franklin believe that by supporting an honorable person such as Jennifer that she will allow herself to get drawn into their underhanded behavior? Don't let them drag you down Jennifer. Put the DA's office behind you and be as honorable is Thompson and Craig are. Don't pull a Franklin and get caught up into the disgrace she did with the dog killers, demoting, firing, and hiring of people without using proper procedure.

DecaturResident . . . I did not say ALL republicans won by sraight ticket voting . . I said SOME. Read it again.

Doesn't Sheryl Marsh usually cover this beat? Has she either quit or been fired?

Yeah she's a man hater. In her opinion every man is wrong. Oh well she's GONE! ADIOS. GOOD RIDDENCE!
