Motorcyclist hurt in wreck with a tractor-trailer

A motorcyclist was flown to Huntsville Hospital by a medical helicopter after a wreck with a tractor-trailer on Alabama 20 near Beltline Road on Thursday.

State troopers said David Douglas Shrider, 26, of Decatur, was injured in the 2:20 p.m. crash a half-mile west of Decatur.

Shrider was riding a 2009 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He was listed in good condition Thursday evening, a Huntsville Hospital spokeswoman said.

The driver of the 2012 Freightliner also involved in the wreck, Roger Dale Dean, 65, of Florence, was not injured.
