Access control to ensure security for students and faculty. Does this security include installation of built-in metal detectors on all entry ways with alarms? You know just in case someone decides to bring a weapon with them. Would be the right time to get somethiing like that in place while the building is in process of being built.

I want to know how much monthly payment for loan/bond City of Hartselle has to pay.

Deja,

We all know that Hartselle City Schools ony has perfect students. If we listen to what school officals are telling us anyway. Of course we all know how missleading Hartselle fuzzy math is.

American,

The total payments for the loans and bonds are around $5.9 Million paid over 30 years. The one thing that I have not learned yet is the interst rate on the $22.1 Million dollar loan.

So they are touting the school borrowing as a $40 million dollar stimulus fund? Who knew that the path to prosperity was borrowing huge sums of money. Oh, the federal government knew that.

They can get 1,000 new students tomorrow and still remain a 5A school.

What happened to the red brick and white columns? This is all the school board wanted to discuss when talking about the new high school. That doesn't look like red brick and white columns. It is in stark contrast to the elementary school next to it.

American, it is a $25,000 a month payment to the city. It also has not been published but they were unable to make that payment 2 months ago, they did not have the money so the city of Hartselle has to bite this. Great for our city isn't it.

Such sour grapes comments.....no real surprise

local architects - especially that Schoel guy could have designed a much better looking and functioning building. Glad Priceville used local guys in gbw - they do good work too.

I do remember an elected official in Hartselle saying (If we buid a high tech High School off I-65 it will bring high tech jobs to Hartselle). I will not name this elected official to protect his identity.

I think everybody in Hartselle is crazy what was wrong with the Old high school did you really need a $40million building.

Should've used that money to fix up downtown now that's reality.

Cant believe Reed got off his butt or that he was in town to do the interview.
