Life in obamaville and I hope you taxocrats love how the countries freedoms are being eroded,by this little dimwit !

Nothing is a surprise in what this crooks wants.

this country was once great!

I have no problems with the smokers now having to pay for their own insurance, Because that's what the article is about so don't hijack the blog and carry it into a irrelvent direction. Warren buffet came out to his employee's at BNSF and told them if they won't use tobacco products he will pay their health insurance in whole but if you do use you pay your own. Now how is that not fair? Also it's almost 1 in every 5 adults so that means it's less than 1 in 5 adults that use tobacco products.

Do the math you pick a price that you think a hospital charges for a room per day for lets say 6 days of your final days not counting what the doctors or meds or any of that then multiply that to 1,233 persons that die every day from tobacco related deaths. The sum is what the insurance companies pay and they pass that right on to you by proxy ie premiums. So yeah they should carry the burden.

This sounds like a good idea to me. We all know tobacco products destroy our health. ..."the lower-income people won't be able to afford health insurance". How do they afford to buy tobacco products now? If they stop smoking, their health improves and their family has more income.

Obamacare has costly surprise for anyone who breathes air.

Since smoking is so bad why is it legal? So what are they going to charge for those who use alcohol and those that use drugs ? Are they going to charge them more also?

To everyone who reads this thread:

There is no such thing as a Smoker and a Non-smoker..... We are all Smokers you are either a First hand Smoker or a second hand smoker.

hang on folks, more surprises coming....

So how is this fair? Obesity causes diabetes, which in turn causes neuropathy. Most knee replacements are because the person is over weight. You can't penalize some and not others....looks as if this health care needs more attention. And you have MORE illegal immigrants having one baby after another without health care. That's the reason the doctors left Decatur General in the first place.

Herman your attempting to hijack the blog. The topic is Smokers and tobacco use.

You are trying to muddy the water hoping that nothing is done . That's the goal right.

“But we have to pass the [health care] bill so that you can find out what’s in it....”

Nancy Pelosi

wow gun controll, health care, 32oz sodas banned, school lunches if america dose not wake up soon all our freedoms will be gone. the goverment cant even ballance a check book and you want them running your health care...wow..how much more are you willing to give up.. give them an inch and they will take a mile or two. if any of us ran our household like they run the goverment we would be in prison and the key thrown away....maby that is where they need to be.

Isn't it astounding that this legislation was rammed through and NO ONE knew what was in it ? !. No one !

@ Casinokid....how do you figure I am trying to hi-jack the blog. The point is,,,,,they found it important enough to mention smokers and how much more it will cost them, but refuse to address other issues, i.e. weight, that would cause health issues as well. You constantly miss the point of other's opinion. When you read something, understand it, digest it, and then comment on it. The point of the whole article is how much more it will cost smokers for insurance....WELL, WHY NOT INDIVIDUALS WITH WEIGHT PROBLEMS THAT PROMOTE CARDIAC ISSUES, DIABETES, KNEE REPLACEMENTS, ETC....WHY JUST PIN POINT SMOKERS????????
