Letter to the Editor
Obamacare, tanks and national debt

To The Daily: On the front page of the Dec. 11 Daily, the comment was Obamacare's $63 surprise. We continue to see more and more surprises from this administration and they are not good. I get nauseated every time I see Rep. Nancy Pelosi saying that we need to pass the bill so that we can see what is in it. It was done in secrecy. The vast majority who voted for this bill had no idea what was in it. And just recently, I saw where the smokers will be hit with a huge burden in paying for their insurance plans.

The killing of our children in schools is deplorable and very sad. But why have there been so many murders in Chicago with over 60 of them children, when Chicago has such stringent gun laws?

Now, I see where we taxpayers are sending 20 F-16s and 200 Abrams tanks to Egypt. Why are we doing this and what are these going to be used for? Will they be used against Israel? Will they be used to kill innocent people? Egypt President Mohamed Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood are not friends of ours, and in 2010 he urged Egyptian parents to teach their children to hate Jews.

Also in the Jan. 6 editorial in The Daily, you said the first step to improve the economy is spending. On May 9, 1939, Treasury Secretary Morgenthau said to President Franklin Roosevelt, "After eight years of spending, we have just as much unemployment as when we started, with enormous debt." The national debt has grown more than $6 trillion in the past four years because of uncontrolled spending. Why do tax cuts create jobs and add money to the treasury? Charlie Gibson asked this three times to Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama in 2008 and neither would answer the question. Look at history.

Kinda funny that none of the folks that voted it in will be on Obamacare.

Outstanding editorial Robert.

I meant letter to the editor. But it reads like an outstanding editorial! You would be better at writing them for the DD than the present editors. Great job.

The sad part is that the Democrats are just better than the Republicans at creating debt, not different. That has been quoted as the single biggest reason that Obama was re-elected. The "other" candidate picked to oppose him was the "least different". When will a true conservative surface and be electable; a conservative who brings the troops home, brings the jobs home, and requires achievement for entitlement?

WAKE UP AMERICA: GREAT JOB ROBERT, THE TRUTH WILL SET US FREE ONLY IF AMERICA WILL LISTEN!!!!!
