Charles Ray Borden Sr., 68, of Leighton, died on February 16, 2013. Lawrence Funeral Home will announce arrangements.
Courtland
Carlton W. Collier, 72, of Courtland, died February 17, 2013. His funeral will be February 19, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Jackson Memory Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. There will be a visitation two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
Decatur
Mrs. Willie Reese Jeffreys Owens, 93, of Decatur, died February 17, 2013. Funeral services will be February 22, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Hartselle
Funeral for Laura Mae Stewart Terry, 84, of Hartselle will be today at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Terry died Sunday, February 18, 2013, at her home.
Danville
Funeral service for Shane Johnson, age 30, of Danville, will be Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Enon Baptist Church at Danville with Bro. Steve Ledbetter and Bro. Charles Williams officiating with burial in the adjoining cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. Viewing will be available one hour prior to the service. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
Shane died on Saturday, February 16, 2013, he was born September 30, 1982, in Morgan County. He was a production worker at Sonoco Corporation, an avid fisherman, deer hunter, and raccoon hunter. He loved the great outdoors! Shane was a loving father and a friend to everyone he ever met. He was preceded in death by his wife, Quana Johnson.
He is survived by a daughter, Adriana Johnson of Danville; his parents, Greg Johnson of Danville and Kim Cline of Courtland; one brother, Derrick Johnson of Danville; his grandparents, Jimmie and Shirley Johnson of Danville and Brenda Naylor of Moulton. He is also survived by a host of cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Moulton
Funeral service for Jaine Janet West Murphy Metz, 90, of Moulton, will be Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Moulton. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. The Rev. Eric Brown and The Rev. Carl Long will be officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home will be directing. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville at 2 p.m.
Mrs. Metz was a member of First United Methodist Church. She retired from the V.A. Hospital in Topeka, Kansas.
Mrs. Metz, died on Saturday, February 16, 2013, at Lawrence Medical Center. She was born on September 19, 1922, in Franklin County, to the late Harrison West and Sidie West. She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry George Metz; husband, Evan Augusta (Pat) Murphy; parents; son, Michael Murphy; daughter, Corkey Metz Wilson; eight brothers, Oscar West, Cap West, Cullen West, J.D. West, Coot West, Hobby West, Billy West, and Hoyt West; and two sisters, Ada West Palmer and Dora West Lawler.
She is survived by her three daughters, Joyce Murphy Divito Pender and Gene, Killen; Hazel Murphy Morrison Jarrett and Jim-Gaylon, Moulton, and Mary Murphy Kennedy Glover and Sam, Houston Texas; sister, Ruby Jean Richardson, Gardendale; 14 grand-children; 20 great-grand-children; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, and The Fellowship Class.
Special thanks to Dr. Charles Coffey and Dr. Robert Hall and the wonderful nursing staff in the ICU Unit at Lawrence Medical Center. Also, mom’s devoted cargiver, Janice Cross and The Rev. Eric Brown.

Decatur
Graveside service for Marjorie Ellen Rutherford, 70, of Decatur, will be Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Decatur City Cemetery, with Edward McCormick officiating.
Mrs. Rutherford, who died on Saturday, February 16, 2013, at Falkville Health and Rehab, was born September 11, 1942, in Morgan County to Joseph Sigmon Elliott Sr. and Hazel Murphree Elliott.
She is survived by one daughter, Lisa Whitlock Floyd of Decatur; two sons, Jeffrey David Rutherford of Decatur, and Joel Todd Rutherford of Birmingham; one sister, Joanne Elliott Hill of Huntsville; one brother, Arthur James Elliott of Decatur; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her extended family at Falkville Health and Rehab for their loving care they gave her for many years.

Joseph Allen Sartain, 78, of Decatur, passed away February 17, 2013, at his residence. He was born December 17, 1934, in Providence, Alabama to Steve and Virginia Sartain. Mr. Sartain owned and operated Joe Sartain Ford from 1974, until his retirement. He was a veteran of the US Army, and attended Westminster Presbyterian Church. Mr. Sartain was past chairman of the Ford Advertising Board, past board member of Burningtree Country Club, and was an avid golfer and War Eagle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, J. M. Sartain; and sisters, Mary Jane Crane and Louise Morgan.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Sybil; son, Allen Sartain (Carol) of Decatur; daughters, Leigh Ann Hurst (Preston), Decatur and Beth Stanley (Steve) of Franklin, TN.; stepson, Michael Blasius (Brigid), Charlotte, NC.; stepdaughter, Kimberly Wilson (Robbie), Oakman, AL.; brothers, Jack Sartain (Harriett), Bartlett, IL., Jerry Sartain (Sharon), Auburn; sisters, Ruby Northcutt (Royce), Savannah, GA., Bobbie O’Kelley, Roswell, GA.; six grandchildren; and Glenda Sartain, mother of his children, Decatur.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 20, 2013, from 1 until 3 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. Please join the family on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the Burningtree Country Club for a Celebration of Life Service.
Pallbearers will be Tom Flowe, Nicky Nixon, Greg Rich, Dick Hardy, Larry Anderson, Carl Webb, and Tom Buckle. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
