Overtime win for Madison

MADISON — West Morgan's Brandon Roberts outscored Madison Academy's Josh Langford in the individual battle, but it would not be enough for a Rebels' win.

West Morgan fell to No. 7 Madison Academy 83-78 in overtime in a Class 3A, Area 15 game.

Roberts scored a game-high 47 points for West Morgan (12-3, 2-1 in the area). Dustin Morgan scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Caleb Hazen finished with 10 boards.

Langford's 45 led Madison Academy (5-2, 2-0). Zach Bogardus added 16 points. Alex Hairston also reached double figures with 10.

West Morgan trailed 36-27 at halftime but rallied to tie the game at 71 by the end of regulation.

Tanner 62, Clements 39: Jace Haggermaker's 14 points and 10 rebounds led Tanner (4-0). Justin Smith had nine points and Fred Rich chipped in with eight.

Colten Gafford scored a team-high 13 points for Clements. Harrison Russell finished with 10.

Priceville 45, Danville 37: Luke Mason had 14 points and eight rebounds for Priceville (8-4). Marc McLendon contributed 10 points and 13 rebounds.

Justin Morgan scored a game-high 16 points for Danville.

East Lawrence 53, East Limestone 51: Cameron Garner led East Lawrence with 12 points. Malik Garth finished with nine.

Jordan Gandy led all scorers with 15 points for East Limestone. Adam Saylor added 10.

Girls

Madison Academy 43, West Morgan 14: Heather Amos led the Lady Rebels (5-9) with four points. For Madison Academy, Sierra Jones poured in 13.

Priceville 67, Danville 63: Jada Beverly scored a game-high 16 points for Priceville. Emillee Cunningham and McKenzie Parker each finished with a double-double. Cunningham had 13 points and 10 rebounds and Parker contributed 10 points and 10 boards. Alex Moore added 12 points and seven rebounds.

Tara Ivey led Danville with 16 points. Tabitha Hutto had 15 points and Gracie George tallied 12.

Muscle Shoals 57, Lawrence County 44: Muscle Shoals overcame a 14-2 deficit after the first quarter to beat Lawrence County in a Class 5A, Area 16 game.

After falling behind by 12 points, Muscle Shoals outscored Lawrence County 18-4 in the second quarter to take the lead. The Trojans sealed the win by outscoring Lawrence County 37-26 in the second half.

Keana Reed led the Trojans (2-3, 2-0) with 16 points, including four 3-pointers in a 21-point third quarter.

Rachel Childress topped Lawrence County with 18 points, while Whitney Woodard added 11.

R.A. Hubbard 62, Waterloo 38: Ashlen McCoy scored 18 points to lead R.A. Hubbard (3-1) past Waterloo.

The Chiefs (3-1) opened a 33-19 halftime lead and cruised home.

Alexandria Gholston added 16 points and Oresha Sherrod finished with 10 points.

Baylee Atkinson topped Waterloo (2-9) with 13 points.
