We love Parkway! As a patient I was treated with great respect. The nurses worked very hard and even the ER wasn't that bad.
its easier for them because they can turn away the uninsured patients and make them go to DGH. But other than that congrats on the award!
Why shouldn't they be able to turn someone away. Wal-Mart can turn you away if you can't pay.
If it's life threating, they will NOT turn you away no matter who you are. DGH is government funded and have to accept patients, that's why they stay in the RED.
they only turn away non-life threatening cases and they should be able to do that. make them stable then give them a free ride to DGH is the way i feel. There is a reason Parkway is private and the award shows. good for them.
I should have clarified non-life threatening.
Parkway is a great hospital! The staff is friendly and they seem like they really enjoy working there. I would not go anywhere else in Decatur.
Although I personally prefer DGH, I commend Parkway on their award. I'm also grateful the DD finally found something good they could report about Decatur. That was meant sarcastic. There are wonderful things about Decatur, the DD should wake up and report on the good things.
Aparently they did not eat the food, especially during the weekend at Parkway while doing their survey. Thank goodness for carryout!

Guess your for Public Option too. By the way I have insurance
Jean, I am against the public option. I believe a private company should not be forced by the government to do something
