BIRMINGHAM (AP) — Birmingham police say two people are in custody after a wreck that killed three people.
Authorities say the family members were killed when a car fleeing a robbery slammed into their vehicle Monday night in Birmingham.
Birmingham police said officers apprehended the two suspects at a house in the Ensley area on Tuesday. Police say they were found in a closet inside the home.
Police say one suspect is believed to have been in the vehicle that wrecked, and another is suspected of helping that person to elude capture. Their names weren't released.
Authorities say officers began chasing the suspects' white SUV after a Walker County robbery. Police say the chase entered Birmingham, where the SUV ran a red light and crashed into the vehicle, killing the three occupants inside.
