Me too -- the hubby and I love hot peppers, and I bet these would make a great salsa.
Here's a tip if you eat something like this and find it unbearable -- DON'T DRINK WATER -- it only spreads the damage around in your mouth. Instead, eat sugar (empty a sugar packet in your mouth) or drink something milk-based to neutralize the heat.
You can drink chocolate milk. I found that to b3e the best. I made some sauce with the ornamental peppers and it numbed your lip after the second bite. I also found if you eat these with Liver sausage sandwich it nrutrilizes the burning and you won't have to wipe your butt next morning with a snow cone.
Orville -- now that is FUNNY, I don't care who you are :-)
If you have to neutralize it... why eat it in the first place??????????????
I love hot foods too, but I also have my limits. If I have to immediately neutralize it after eating, and it ruins my enjoyment of the meal, then it makes no sense in eating it. It sounds like there is no way to be able to actually enjoy a meal with these peppers in the meal unless you like to be in extreme pain while eating. Spicy is one thing, but it seems some people take this to an extreme and eat things just so they can brag about it. Why?
This hot stuff is very good for your, believe it or not. If you have a stomach disorder, do not take spicy foods. Ask any health doctor and they will agree with me, that it is good to do this accasionally.
