Well, at least Reeves didn't pretend to find someone unbiased. Whittington smokes 4 packs a day. And his wife is deatly allergic! He doesn't even care about her. Great pick, Reeves!

This is a complete waste of time. But then again, I expect nothing more from this group. How long until the next election?

how stupid

this city has a great thing

and the council wants to

mess it up

Trying to pass the buck. Be leaders for the people. It has been so much nicer and healthier to go to public places since the ban. This should never have even come up for discussion and will only set Decatur back. Hartselle, are you watching the discontent with removing a ban on smoking. Isn't it time your city moved into the 21st century?

WAH, WAH, WAH, I need platform shoes, the tears are getting deep.

COMMENT BY LYNNE: Of course they are trying to pass the buck. And as for my on-going argument about cigarette smoke versus perfumes, here's some interesting reading for everyone. http://www.ourlittleplace.com/chemicals.html

Taxes are down. People are going to Huntsville to eat and relax after working all week. Maybe even have a glass of wine on Sunday. Oh, what a horrible thing! Compromise like Huntsville and Nashville and the people might stay here more. Hammon is right. By the way I don't smoke! Please remember you are all elected to represent the people not just yourself.. This seems very apparent on a couple of our councilman. It's their way or no way....

I wish that Hartselle would pass the NO SMOKINHG like Decatur did, They should, It would be better for everyone

Lets appoint a commitee to check on the smoking ban committee. We can then appoint an idiot committee, and I know several good candidates.

your fine city has already cornered the market on idiots. now they are going for the lead in losing tax money. im for an outback, olive garden, and ruths kriss in FALKVILLE. there seems to be plenty of room along 31, and at half the price of decatur.

I can live with not smoking in public places paid for by public taxes, but to dictate to a business that use their own money to start and substain a for profit business is not right. This should not be a personal issue of the City Council but personal to the business owners who are affected. Every person had the CHOICE to choose which business they wish to patronize, if you don't like the food don't go the restaurant, if you don't like Ford cars then buy a General motors car, If you don't like Publix grocery then go to Kroger, if you don't like the job environment then don't apply for the job, If you don't like then it should be your CHOICE to decide. Should a few people personal CHOICES also decide for us where not to eat, what kind of car to drive, where to buy our grocery, where to work, where to go to church, where to live and anything else they so decide to choose? Everyone who has the capacity to think logically should look at a situation that would affect them personally and then decide if they would like the CHOICE to decide or have the City Council to decide for you.

good one jerry. except for a couple, based on the comments. most of the post are from folks who can't decide for themselves, they want government to do it for them. that is unless it takes something from them. them watch what side of the fence they are on..

billy and russell are a joke, they are against it because they arbitrairliy passed the ban and now can't admit that they were wrong.

i am a nonsmoker. but i the mental capabilties to make my own decisions when deciding on whetether smoking, or non-smoking.
