Apparently Ronny Russell and Billy Jackson are afraid that if the citizens of Decatur are allowed to vote on issues like this, the voters won't support these two councilmen's personal agendas. Someone really should explain to them that government by fiat isn't the type of government we want.
Mr. Hammonds wants this passed so he can go back to Tony's Restaurant and continue to smoke and bad mouth his felow counselmen and the employees of Decatur, mostly the police department which he is the liason for. Careful Mr. Hammonds, you never know whose around.
JUST LET THE PEOPLE SMOKE AND DONT INFORCE THE LAW
iT CANT BE INFORCED ANYWAY WHO HAS GOT A SMOKING TICKET ?? lol
If you wanna smoke, step outside. What's the big deal.
SMOKE ON ONLY PERSON THAT WOULD TELL YOU TO QUIT WOULD BE THE OWNER
iF THE POLICE COME JUST PUT IT out
Stepping outside to smoke is a minor inconvenience and being willing to accept the health risk associated with smoking. Staying inside and smoking in an enclosed area is imposing a health risk on others. I suggest that if people have a problem with NOT endangering the health of others, they need to keep their butts (pun intended) at home.
It is funny to me, not really since I have been following the news on City of Decatur, that not one single person has appointed a restaurant or bar owner to be on the committee. The businesses that gained to lose the most in this ordinance will not have any representation on the committee, as of yet. Seems to be typical Decatur workings.
It's not a matter of if you like it or not, it's what the business owner wants. Pure and simple...
if a person is to dumb not to go into a smoking establishment. maybe that person should stay at home.
its the business owners decision. jw(non-smoker)
actually if the owners of the bars and restaurants thought that it would be more profit in non smoking establishments they would do it on their own, without being forced by the city...and we as adults can choose on our own if we want to go into a smoking or a nonsmoking establishment...i can make a decision on my own i dont need the city of decatur to make my choices for me..
Amen Tim!!!
excellent tim!!!!!!!
