I absolutely agree with you Charles. Discrimination and racism are what they are no matter the source. To add "reverse" to create a phrase, IMHO, is adding fuel to the fire; because 'we' have heard the term(s) so many times 'we' immediately associate it with any act against persons of the caucasian race. I don't understand how groups such as the NAACP, SCLC and SPLC can support these 'rulings' (and affirmative action for that matter) when it does NOTHING for the "betterment" of people who do not have a caucasian background, it only widens the gap. It makes me wonder what would have been said to these firefighters if they had walked into one of the offices of the above stated and asked to have their American Civil Liberties upheld. I imagine they would have been laughed out of the place or even had charges filed against them for harrassment.
I am with you on gaining employment and promotion for truly qualified peoples-- the only way this country will ever truly move forward is if everyone strives to be the best they can be and not rely on their ethnic connections to "hand" to them what they think is "owed" them.
