Sounds like an old fashioned pass the buck coverup. The dog pound people , the police, and the health department are hoping they can stall and make excuses until the problem goes away, or the mother gives up.
The dog is more important than the child to them, or else they would do their jobs.
Come on carolyne. The law requires the dog to be quarntined for ten days. The owners have no choice in that matter. I have a 10 pound dog that bit a neighborhood child. My pet who has never shown a tooth to anyone else was labeled as viscious because of a snip to the leg. These people have offered to pay the bills incured and I will guarntee that the dog is quarntined. How is this a cover up?
My son and I were attacked years ago and it was a friends dog. The hospital contacted the police and the officers stated that the dog would be locked up and evaluated. It has never happened and this was 5 years ago! However, the vet for this pup should be able to say safely what type of condition the dog is in. It sounds like this was an unfortunate accident! Poor kid, I hope this doesn't scare him off from some Halloween fun and I know the dog owners have to feel awful too!
Sounds like a million dollar lawsuit coming...
This is why you put your dog in your fenced in yard or in a room where it can't get to the door on Halloween. How much common sense does it take to see that numerous callers at the door will alarm your dog? We always put our dog in the yard until the kids are through Trick-orTreating.
yep bad judgement on the dog owners part for not putting the dog up on Halloween. I do have to wonder if the door handle did cause the damage to the boys face. They dont look consistent with a dog bite from what I can see. Its still no excuse for the dog being out on a night where children are dressed up and look scary to a dog. Let me guess the dog was dressed up too and they wanted people to see it? maybe?
MY COMMENTS THAT MOST DOCTORS WOULD NOT STATE THIS WAS A DOG BITE WAS ERASED/DELETED BY SOMEONE HMNNNNNN WONDER WHY CARLYNE YOU MAY HAVE SOMETHING
