I agree that the bond is a bit low, but that is the problem with our system. The bail amounts for various offenses at various times seems to never have any consistency. Don't even get more started on the sentences. I wonder how many of these guys are repeat offenders?

Hey Calhoun. I know for a fact that Frankie James Mcvay is a serious repeat offender. You only have to go back to the Dec 8th 2012 article the DD did on him when he was arrested for Distribution of Cocaine.

So in less than a week he is back on the streets DEALING again. This is one POS that needs to go away for a long time.

And to Herman these people are POS. You think dealing drugs is not worthy of the title of POS? No one has to look at themselves in the mirror to see what these scum are.

$5000 bond.....I guess the judge knew drugs would be in high demand at this time of year and didn't want the criminals to miss any drug sales during the holidays.

If you will check your maps, it would be hard to sell illegal drugs (or any thing illegal) in Decatur without being within 3 miles of a school or public housing. Just sayin...... Does anyone here know (1) What country has the highest percent of it's population in prison? ANSWER - USA (2) What are the largest number of prisoners in jail for? ANSWER - DRUG RELATED OFFENSES. Can anyone see that we continue to repeat our mistakes? And, no solution is in sight.

@ Charles....I can believe those stats. But I can't image what the answers should be! Most, and I said most, people that sell drugs are from low income households, lack education, and unqualified for a "decent" paying job! I'm also not stupid enough to believe that there are "some" that just don't want to work and this is a "quick" way to make money. I really don't know what the answer should be in these cases.

BUT I have noticed that EVERY TIME an article in the DD has black people in it, there are so many negative comments left. I also notice there is another article on here with 5 white people on it for varies reasons, one choking his wife, 2 for meth labs, 1 for stealing a car, ect...but NOT ONE comment for any of these people that post on here about them. I dont read all the comments on DD but I have seen people bash white folks too ...just sayin...tell me why if someone [white person] mentions anything about Obama its racist but another person {black person} can say anything about any other president and its ok??? In conversation I said I didnt vote for obama in an instant I was racist ??? Im tired of everyone playing the race card!!!! My family didnt own slaves I didnt make anyone ride on back of the bus..I invited a black man to our church dinner he said Quote "I dont go to church with white people" so there some black people are racist too but no one wants to talk about that!!!

@ Jimmy...you can tell when the comment about Obama is racist! If you see 5 black people being arrested and you called them Obama voters, that's racist. It's all in the context of the words. I sure there are a lot of people, black and white, that didn't vote for Obama, and that is ANYONE'S choice, but not this racist lingo that these "chosen" few continue to make on DD. I hate that anyone turned you down to go and listen to God's word, and to use that as an excuse NOT to go says a lot about that person. I am not dumb enough to think that racist acts are not on the flip side, but I see it more from white people because I'm white. thats why nothing will ever change, the article is about drug arrests, & every comment on here is about race. everybodys more concerned with racist comments then what these people done or how to fix it. put all that time & energy you all seem to have into a solution for illegal activity, repeat offenders etc. jeeeezzzz!
