Walker, Cox

Jennifer Jo Walker and Randy Mac Cox were married March 9, 2013 in a 6:00 evening ceremony held at First United Methodist Church, Decatur with Rev. Kathryne Perkins officiating. A reception followed at Ingalls Harbor Pavilion.

The bride is the daughter of Beverly A. Walker of Decatur and the late Julian R. Walker. She is the granddaughter of Leota A. Kirk and the late William F. Kirk of Frankfort, Ky. and the late Rufus and Josephine Walker of Lexington, Ky.

The groom is the son of Emma Faye Cox of Somerville and the late Leo Clyde Cox, Jr. He is the grandson of the late Randolph and Sarah Johnson and the late Maxie Leo and Louise Cox.

The bride wore an elegant pearl duchess satin gown with a halter top, a sweep skirt accented with crystal beads and pearls, and a cathedral train. Her cathedral veil was attached to a silver and pearl tiara, and she carried a bouquet of white calla lilies.

Maid of honor was April Bohannon, best friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Amy Denny of Clinton, Okla., and Neika Birdwell and Jenifer Gile of Decatur.

Best man was Mike Robinson. Groomsmen were Hobert Pruitt and Dave Pointer of Decatur, and Elvis Hollins of Athens. Ushers were Jason Lazenby and Dusty French.

Wedding directors were Pat Carl and Ann Henry. Caterer was Simp McGhee's and music was provided at the reception by Music Machine DJs. Reception Helpers were Hannah DeVine, Chloe Hazel and Ryann Schlangen.

A bridal shower was given for the bride on February 2, 2013 in Decatur, given by April Bohannon, Neika Birdwell and Jenifer Gile. A Couples Shower was held on February 16, 2013 in Athens, hosted by Melody Hollins, Dena Jackson, Cathy Pruitt, Paula Cox, Sharon Price, and Linda Graves.

After a honeymoon in Negril, Jamaica, the couple will be residing in Decatur.
