Wonderful article! I was well acquainted with the Boys Ranch growing up because they attended the same church. It was a top notch operation under the direction of Bobby Smith. The young men interviewed for the article were great kids and wonderful examples of the good that the Boys Ranch can do! I hope the Ranch is restored to the ministry it was meant to be! I grew up in the community and graduated from Danville in 1991. For the most part all the boys at the Ranch were pretty good kids with the occasional bad apples. The Ranch helped give many of these boys direction in their lives during that time, but in the past several years, there has been some issues with the way it has been ran and it showed with some of the problems the community was having with the boys living at the Ranch. Those problems caused many to start being as supportive as they used to be and it is good to see somebody that wants to make the Ranch the reputable and positive place that it used to be when I was in school with those boys that lived there.
