West Limestone High used a late run to beat Wilson 51-43 Saturday in the third place game of the Helen Keller Hospital/Wayne Bracy Invitational in Tuscumbia.
The Wildcats entered the final period trailing by a point, but used a 15-4 run to take the lead.
Zane Griffin hit a pair of three-pointers and Kyle Casteel hit 3 of 4 free throws in the fourth quarter for West Limestone. Casteel finished with a game-high 15 points. Nathaniel Adams added 14 points for the Wildcats.
Austen Oakley led Wilson with nine points.
Athens 56 Dallas County 48: Nathaniel Potts paced Athens with 13 points and Trey Potts added 11 as Athens (9-7) beat Class 4A No. 2 Dallas County in the third-place game of the Yuletide Classic at Wallace State-Hanceville.
William Lee led Dallas County with 21 points.
East Limestone 63, West Limestone 57: East Limestone was clutch at the free-throw line down the stretch, and it led the Indians to a 63-57 victory over West Limestone in the upper division championship of the Northwest Alabama Girls Christmas Tournament.
East Limestone made just one field goal in the fourth quarter, but was 12-of-14 from the charity stripe as it held West Limestone at bay. The Wildcats got as close as three points in the final seconds, but thanks to the clutch free throw shooting, could get no closer.
East Limestone took a big momentum swing into the fourth quarter, as Rachel Diamond hit a deep 3-pointer at the third-quarter buzzer to give the Indians a 47-38 lead. Those three points came in handy as the score tightened up in the final few minutes.
Breanna Crabtree led East Limestone (15-4) with 18 points while Diamond had 15 and Bailey Speer added 12. West Limestone was led by Kayla Carter with 21 points, Autumn Bates with 12 and Bugg Grizzard with 11.
Holly Pond 43, Hartselle 40: Riley Terry scored 10 points for the Lady Tigers and Quanesha Burks and Chanell Johnson contributed six each in the loss.
For Holly Pond, Natasha Holcombe netted 13 points and Taylor Terry added a dozen.
Danville 51, Phil Campbell 34: Gracie George made 7 3-pointers and finished with 22 points to lead Danville in the third-place game of the Winfield Christmas tournament.
Sydni Shelton added 14 points for the Hawks (12-7).
Hope Cook led Phil Campbell with 11 points, while Autumn Thomas added 10.
