We in the private sector have been fearing this government and economy for four years. Welcome to the fold brothers and sisters. The real world awaits when the government stops spending the money it does not have. My budget has to balance every day or I fail and our government actually failed years ago its finally catching up with us all.

I agree that cuts need to be made, but the problem is that these cuts can be made without impacting personnel so much and so recklessly. There are lots of programs that could be cut and none of us would feel the impact. I would say that 99% of Americans would not feel it, but the powers that be have chosen to recklessly implement cuts without looking to minimize impact. It is going to hurt our local economy and the economy of the United States. I know I for one will not be spending any money and I am one of 25,000 at Redstone. The local economy will feel this impact.

Mae, at least you had money for a longer period than I. I hold no animosity to government workers but unlike people in the private sector you were paid when there actually was no money. My employer lost money and then was forced to cut the workforce to compensate four years ago. The company did not have a printing press unlike the federal government.

Mae, Steve is just jealous you got to keep your job four years ago when he lost his. Good luck during these tough times! I hope you and your family manage okay over the coming months.

I don't know why everyone is complaining about the bbudget. Do like the govt. does. Run you credits cards to the ma. Get morfe and run them to the max. When it's time to pay, file a bankrupt case. That's what the govt. will do eventually.

Robert,

I took a pay cut to continue work. Now I really wish I had joined the ranks of those that vote for a living. The only thing about doing that is that I was not raised to depend on others without giving back for a living. If we are going to speculate let me speculate you are a welfare junkie.
