Mark Emerson, 70, runs around Wilson Morgan Park on Monday during the first measurable snowfall of the year. The National Weather Service reported accumulations of less than 1 inch in Morgan County, but areas of Lawrence County received 1½ inches. The Lawrence, Morgan and Limestone county systems closed schools Monday because of snow and ice on some roads, and Decatur City Schools canceled virtual classes. The Lawrence, Hartselle and Morgan systems will delay the start of school today by two hours. Limestone County and Athens City will operate on a three-hour delay. Decatur planned normal virtual instruction. Calhoun Community will wait until 9 a.m. to start classes. More photos on A8 and at decaturdaily.com. [JERONIMO NISA/DECATUR DAILY]
