MOULTON ؙ— A Moulton police officer received minor injuries after being involved in a two-vehicle accident while responding to an emergency call late Monday afternoon, the police chief said.

Chief Craig Knight said the officer was traveling east on Court Street in a 2021 Police Dodge Charger when his vehicle was struck by another vehicle.

Knight said the officer was following protocols of the department with his emergency lights and siren active. Going through the intersection at Court Street and Alabama 157, the officer’s vehicle was struck by a 2015 Ford F-250 pickup, the chief said.

Knight said the officer was treated and released at the Lawrence County Medical Center and the other driver was uninjured. Both vehicles were disabled in the accident, Knight said.
