A Decatur man was jailed Friday in connection with a boating accident in the Rock Creek area of Smith Lake.

William Jackson Fite, 23, of Decatur, was booked into the Winston County jail early Friday on a charge of boating under the influence, according to Alabama Marine Patrol Troopers.

Fite was the operator of a 2012 Mastercraft wakeboard boat involved in a two-vessel crash at about 10 p.m. Thursday night, troopers said.

Marine Patrol Troopers and multiple law enforcement and search and rescue agencies will resume their search for a missing Troy woman in the Rock Creek area of Smith Lake Saturday morning. Kelsey Nicole Starling, 26, of Troy was a passenger in the Mastercraft. Four other passengers on the Mastercraft were transported for medical attention by emergency responders, troopers said.

One person was injured on the second vessel, a 2011 Harris Flotebote pontoon boat operated by 50-year-old Jodi Wallace Suggs of Decatur, troopers said.
