The Community Action Partnership of North Alabama will hold a weatherization event Monday at 2 p.m. at the home of Decatur residents Jerry and Billie Stewart at 401 Third St. N.W. in Decatur.

For more than 40 years, the U.S. Department of Energy’s Weatherization Assistance Program has reduced energy costs for low-income households by increasing the energy efficiency of their homes, while ensuring their health and safety.

The Partnership’s Weatherization Assistance Programs assisted 21 families in north Alabama with weatherization services in 2016, and will serve 25 families by the end of the 2017 fiscal year.

The program serves households that meet established income guidelines in Morgan, Lawrence, Cullman, Marion, Walker and Winston counties.
