Funeral for George Thomas White, age 78, of Decatur will be Saturday, June 15, 2019, at noon at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Barry Sempsrott officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until noon prior to the service. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Mr. White, who died Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at his residence, was born April 6, 1941, in Hartselle to James Thomas White and Wilma Maddox White. He was an avid sports fan who was a member of the Morgan County Sports Hall of Fame, and loved watching his grandchildren play. Mr. White was a devoted and loving husband to Charlotte for 56 years, and retired from Cooks Pest Control following 44 years of service.

He is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte Linderman White; one son, Perry White (Stacy) of Birmingham; one daughter, Leanne White Taliaferro of Johnson City, TN; two brothers, Gary White (Rhonda) of Hartselle and Hoyt White of Baltimore, MD; one sister, Janet King of Neel; and five grandchildren, Harrison White, Davis White, Rachel White, John Taliaferro and Sam Taliaferro.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Harrison White, Davis White, John Taliaferro and Sam Taliaferro and nephews, Adam Hamilton and Ben Linderman. Honorary pallbearers will be current and retired employees of Cooks Pest Control.
