Mrs. Sivley died on Monday, May 3, 2021 at her residence. She was born August 6, 1938 in Greenville Hospital in Butler County, Alabama to Anna Mae and Leamon Clark. A 1955 graduate of Rawls High School in Andalusia, she joined the U.S. Army and was stationed at Anniston Ordinance Depot. After basic training, Myra was transferred to Fort Sam Houston, Texas, then on to Fort Myers, VA. There she met a handsome soldier who asked for her hand in marriage on their first date. Three weeks later, that soldier John Corban Sivley, married Myra in a union lasting until her passing 63 and a half years later.
Myra was honorably discharged before giving birth to the first of their 3 children. After John’s discharge they moved back to Alabama to raise their family.
A lifelong Baptist, Myra was a member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church for over 50 years. She enjoyed taking trips, fishing and playing Rook with her church buddies. Myra was proud of having served on the Hartselle City Council from 1996-2000, but her proudest accomplishment was mother, grandmother and doting great-grandmother.
