The 19th annual Wet Dog Triathlon will take place at Point Mallard Park on Saturday at 7 a.m.

It will feature a 400 meter swim in a tributary of the Tennessee River. Once the competitors are finished, they will hop on a bike for a 15 kilometer ride that leads into Rhodes Ferry Park. The entrees will then run the 5 kilometer portion of the race that features trail surfaces, black top and asphalt.

The Wet Dog Triathlon raises money for Mosaic Mentoring of North Alabama. Entrees from Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia, South Carolina, California, New Mexico and Virginia are expected to enter.

An awards ceremony will follow the race. The competition is expected to wrap up at around 11 a.m. after the ceremony.
